meal replacements

is it healthy to use whey protien shakes as a meal replacement for 1 or 2 meals a day when trying to lose some weight?
what are some tips when using protien shakes as meal replacements?
are they ok to use even when you work out everyday? or are they going to make you lose a lot of energy

any kind of protein shakes are not good to use as meal replacements because the nutrients you get from actual food your not gonna get from a protein shake so i wouldnt suggest it besides protein shakes can actually make you gain weight if you have them more than once a day and if they have too much sugar i suggest to lose weight you stick to exercising and dieting and for dieting you dont have to do anything extreme just take out oily/fatty sugary foods basically eliminate junk food and sugary drinks and combine that with a little exercise and you will see a huge difference in just the first 2-3 weeks Good luck :)
