trying to grow my short thick hair so i am an african american. my hair is really thick. its also short. i am trying to grow my hair out this summer. i was wondering if you could give me tips. like things to use and things to do.i already trimmed my hair so my edges wouldnt be split. also could you say things that damage your hair. like gel or heat or anything. i dont use gel. also is brushes bad because it pulls your hair out? thanks

you should get a perm every six weeks and make sure your hair isnt dry or overly greased. keep it flat-ironed and wrap it at night. too much heat to your hair like hot combs or flat-ironing can break your hair off. wash it every week so you wont have too much dandruff. keep your ends clipped, get them clipped every 4 wks. hope this works =) ]
If you eat eggs or anything with protein in it, it helps your hair (and nails) stay healthy. Also, try not to use heat products too often. Example: straightener, blow dryer. And I would suggest using a wide tooth comb instead of a brush. It helps the breakage.
