However, your shoulders are made up of three muscles, all together known as the deltoid. These three parts are the anterior deltoid, which is the "front" buldge in your shoulder. The lateral deltoid is the biggest portion which is the middle of your shoulder muscle, and the posterior deltoid is the rear potion of deltoid. What you want to focus on for a broader shoulder span is the LATERAL deltoid. An excellent exercise is the upright row which can be performed with a barbell of dumbells, in which you lift your arms to a curve while keeping the dumbells or barbell parallel to the floor. It is good to work out the anterior and posterior deltoids as well as to keep everything porportioned. However, you can target the lateral area greater to reach your goal. Check out some of the other exercises on the website I posted, they have some excellent visuals and descriptions to aide you in your workouts. Just keep a well balanced, high protein diet and work your shoulders every other day three times a week (a break in between each day to rest your shoulders and give them time to regrow and regain) and you will get your results! I wish you the best of luck! :) Dave [ ThEDaRkEsTSiDe's advice column | Ask ThEDaRkEsTSiDe A Question ]
