In xoxo which ones are the kisses and which are the hugs?

According to most sources, "o" means hugs and "x" means kisses, however, some believe that the symbols "x" and "o" are reversed, with "x" meaning hugs and "o" meaning kisses, although this interpretation is seemingly less popular. I guess it's up to you to decide :P

It's debatable if you search online. In addition to what the user below me said, the X could be hugs where two arms are linked and the O is the mouth for kisses.

The O is the hug because you make an O with your arms when you hug somebody the X is the kiss because thats to represent puckered lips like most kiss emoticons are like, :x
