It's so embarassing... I have an odd, flaky rash around my nose. The doctor said it was just irrated skin, and that I should use cortizone on it, but it's still there!! Anyone know any fast remedies for dry, irrated skin? I'll appreciate any ideas :]

You should use a medicated moisturizer and try soothing products like aloe vera (keep it in the fridge!) If it's inflamed, I've read that you can crush an advil/ibuprofel tablet and mix it with a little moisturizer and put it on your nose to reduce inflamation.
When you aren't moisturizing it, don't touch it! That will only irritate it more. You could also try products like oat meal baths or check out your local drug store and see what they have over the counter.
If the problem doesn't clear up in a week or so, I would see a dermatologist.
Good luck!

I recommend Cetaphil skin cream which can be found at costco for dry skin. It works like a charm. It also takes anywhere from 3 days to a week for dry skin to go away even with an excellent skin cream. I would wait it out a bit and try the skin cream I recommended.
Also, try taking shorter, warm showers as opposed to long, hot ones to keep this from reoccurring. ]
