My (HOPEFULLY) new school <3 <3

Question Posted Friday April 23 2010, 12:34 am

i'm 14, female, and REALLY into musical theater. i've been dancing since kindergarten, and i started acting classes in 5th grade. i've played the violin since 1st grade and i'm really into theater. <3
my school SUCKS. i hate it there, and it doesn't really support the arts. i'm not going to be prepared for my profession of choice by continuing to go there. so today i auditioned for a performing arts school OMG!!!
My singing was ok, kinda breathy and i've been working really hard to get more tone, but it was in tune at least. my monolouge was better, but i had the paper in my hand because i only scheduled the audition 3 days ago...not much time to prepare. Then i attended one of their dancing classes, and the teacher told me i have great technique and form :DDDDDDDD
at first i was REALLY nervous, this was my only chance to get away from my school and into a school that appreciates me.
It might seem to people that know me that i'm trying to get away from bullies. i understand that there will be mean people wherever i go, but at this school, everyone was so nice on the tour! and more people will know where i'm coming from, not making fun of me.

so my real question is, i'm wondering how choosey this school will be. i talked to some students, one of which i knew, and i know he isn't very good at acting, or singing, but he made it. plus another girl there told me not to worry, she botched her monolouge and song but made it in because they take everything into consideration, NERVOUSNESS is one thing :)
but my mom told me not to get my hopes up.
i'm in love with this school! it's so beautiful, no graffiti, only 4 years old! wonderful ballet studios, a park right across the street, windows everywhere, music in the halls --GET THIS. they have open mikes on fridays = PEOPLE SING AT LUNCH!!!!!!!!!! at my school if you sing anywhere outside of the chorus room you get SEVERELY MADE FUN OF. dirty glares, mean laughs, people who call themselves friends tell you to shut up, you're embarassing them.
man, i want this school so baaad. i know this kinda turned into me gushing about this awesome school, but i don't know if i should get my hopes up or not. do you advicenators think i have a chance? i'm actually a good singer... not bragging, but everyone says so, even my mom and she's a big critisizer (spelling?)
my dancing is good, i know that from years of ballet.
what do you think?
maybe this isn't asking for advice, but just opinions.

I hope you get in and it sounds like you have a great shot, but NEVER get your heart set on anything that isn't a sure thing. If you get your hopes up and you don't get in, you'll be crushed. Wait it out and try to keep your mind away from how great the school is until you get your acceptance.

I wish you all the best!

It depends on the school.
It depends on how bad you messed up.
It depends who else auditioned.
It depends who wants it more.
We didn't see your audition. We don't know the school. Therefore, we can not help you.
I guess wait it out.
Don't get your hopes up. It will mean more if you do get in, however, won't kill you if you don't.
