around this time, we're all sneezing and coughing and stuff, but how can i tell whether or not this is just allergies or if i'm actually sick? i'm sneezing, coughing, runny nose, phlemy throat, and stuffed up nose. its one of those things where i cant breathe through one nostril. who can tell me how to tell whether this is a cold or just allergies?
ediemarie answered Thursday April 22 2010, 10:25 am: Hi,
this can be very confusing. I am a frequent allergy sufferer. Usually when you have a cold, mucus from your throat and nose is yellow or thick. This is not the case with allergies. With allergies the discharge is clear and you usually don't cough unless you have post nasal drip.
Go to a doctor to be on the safe side especially if you develop a fever.
Good luck, [ ediemarie's advice column | Ask ediemarie A Question ]
