what is black gooey discharge? and how long do you have it until you get your period?

Usually it's just blood clots. You can have it anywhere from a few days to a week before your period. You can also have it during your period.
Mine usually starts off brownish, then becomes blackish, then red after a couple days. It's normal, don't worry about it! :)
