Is it normal to have two different size feet? Advice on shoes, please?

Question Posted Thursday March 25 2010, 4:37 am

As the years have gone on I've noticed that my left foot is larger than my right foot. When I was younger it didn't seem to be that much of a problem but now I can feel that shoe being too small while the right shoe fits just right. I don't know if I should be seeing a doctor about this because I'm afraid it's some sort of freakish deformity (and I just don't know about going through surgery). I haven't said anything to my mom about it either.

How should I go about buying shoes now that I've noticed this problem? Two shoes of the same size is simply not going to cut it because I get blisters and raw spots on my left foot now. I'm afraid if I wear a size too large on my rgith foot that the same problem will happen with it and leave ugly marks. Please, help me figure this out!

its completely normal!my left foot is larger than my right foot too. im sorry but your going to just have to live like thia.you can get someone to stretch you shoes like get your dad to squeeze his feet in them thats what i do and it helps but only sometimes. sooner or later the shoe should stretch out, just wear socks for the first couple of wears or even just stokings so that your feet dont get blisters or scaring.
go to Athletes Foot theyr the best place to buy sports shoes and theyl measure your feet and everything.
another thing you can try is getting the insoles put in one of your shoes to make your right shoe smaller if you decide to buy a bigger size...

its perfectly normal- i have the same problem, but not as bad as what you describe. What i do is this: my left foot is size 12, my right 11.5. I put one of them odour eater, shoe sole things in the right shoe, and so because of this, my foot sits higher, which makes the show space smaller. Hope i helped :)
