Hello friends, this is LagunaBabe and this time, I am in need of some help!
I am trying to do Post Secondary at my local college and I fit all requirements except I need an ACT score. I am taking the ACT in June, while the Post Secondary deadline is April 1, therefore, I need to take their Placement Test in order to substitue. Their Placement Test is the ACT's COMPASS Test. I am taking this test Wednesday, and have lived and breathed my ACT Study Guide for more than a week.
For any of you who have any experience with the test, can you tell me (not what is on it, but...) it's level of difficulty and any last-minute tips or suggestions in order to prepare? Thank you friends. :)
Honestly? I thought the test was a breeze. And if you've been living and breathing your ACT Study Guide, it will only make it easier for you. I didn't study for it much (seriously, I barely studied at all) and I did really well on it.
The math was all very basic, and I hate/suck at math, so if I did well on it, I'm sure you will, too. The other sections were a reading and an English grammar section. I also thought that both of these sections were easy. The reading was a bit time consuming, but it was nothing completely mind-boggling. The sections all contained very basic content, and there was never a point where I froze up and thought "OMG I CAN'T DO THIS!" There were only a few math questions that I struggled with. But like I said, I hate math, I'm not good at it, and I didn't take a math class this year, so I'm at a huge disadvantage.
Some other tips I have:
- Make sure to bring a calculator.
- Get lots of sleep the night before, so that you're awake, sharp, and ready to ace the test.
- DON'T be nervous. You're a smart girl, and you're going to do just fine :)
