the chances of getting tss are almost none
you just have to use tampons the right way
dont leave them in for more than 8 hours
(sometimes i change mine even less like 4)
but dont change them to often cause if u insert a tampon and then pull it out before enough blood has gotten in it then it will chaffe a little bit
tss is normally caused when a woman forgets she has in a tampon then she puts another in over it
then when she pulls out the bottom one the top one is still in there
and the blood gets clogged up and the old blood dosnt leave your body thus causing toxic shock syndrom
this may sound totally scary but it wont happen if you change your tampon
just change it every 8 hours promis once you start using tampons youll see how great they are and they dont make a mess [ candi4545's advice column | Ask candi4545 A Question ]
SarcasticGreetings answered Wednesday March 17 2010, 7:00 pm: First of all, TSS is very RARE. Potentially deadly, but rare.
> Pick the MINIMUM absorbency tampons necessary. Meaning, don't use the Super Duper Ultra Absorbency brand if you anticipate a very light flow.
> Wear tampons only when you NEED to. Don't wake up, put one in, come home at midnight, sleep with it in, and change it in the morning. This is BAD. Do not, under ANY circumstances, sleep with a tampon in. And most tampon brands caution against wearing one for more than 8 hours at a time.
