ugly stepsister monologue?

Question Posted Friday March 5 2010, 8:45 pm

So for our theater projects this year one of the things we have to do is to perform a monologue in front of everyone. This is my first year in theater and so I have a question there was a list of suggested monologues to practice and everyone was going on and on about the ugly stepsister monologue. There weren't any details and so I don't really know much about it.

Has anyone here ever performed the ugly stepsister monologue? Would it be a good choice for somebody who has never performed one before? Does it go over well in front of a mixed audience? I mean will the parents and the kids like it?

Please help me if you can and thank you very much!

My advice: Talk to those who have performed it for their opinion. Ask where they found it and how you can get it. If all else fails talk to the prof. about it and ask where you can obtain it. If he/she doesn't know I would be surprised.
