I had sex with my boyfriend last night around 6 o clock, I just realized I started ovulating Wednesday, and it was Thrusday that we had sex, before we did, I had given him oral and he ejaculated, then he went to the bathroom, and it was an hour and a half to two hours later that we had un protected sex for about 2 minutes. What are my chances of getting pregnant? I am thinking about taking the Plan B pill tommorow around 12 in the afternoon, will I be okay? Please help me..
Smash answered Friday March 5 2010, 6:27 pm: no matter how slim(because honestly, your chances aren't super in the red, but any sperm is still sperm) there's always a chance of getting pregnant from residual semen. most sperm left externally will die within a few hours. don't freak out too bad. but DO take the plan b pill if you want the peace of mind, and you DO want to avoid a pregnancy; DO NOT wait until tomorrow at noon. take it NOW. the sooner, the more chance EXPONENTIALLY that if there's a problem headed your way it will help you avoid it. it doesn't work 'within 72 hours'; it works BEFORE IMPLANTATION, which occurs, if it's going to, WITHIN 72 hours. that means you can't take it and have it work if you've already had implantation occur; only if it HAS NOT happened yet-so if sperm found that egg of yours, and it implants and THEN you take the pill NOTHING happens; if sperm found your egg and fertilization occurs, and it searches out the uterine wall and you've already taken the pill, implantation will be PREVENTED. you take the second one, it extends the effect. that way, the effect itself lasting three days, it won't have a chance to implant and will instead wash harmlessly out into your panties or while you're going to the bathroom, and you'll never even know.
