brown discharge

Question Posted Saturday January 23 2010, 12:03 am

18/f

I haven't been sexually active recently, about a year, and I've always had normal discharge, the yellowish-white colour. but today, I had a sort of brownish, beige colour. what could this mean?
It can't be anything bad, can it? Like an STI or STD? Because I haven't been sexually active in so long.

thanks.

It maybe around the time your starting your period and if you have discharge already blood and the discharge together my give the appearance of brown. That is just my thought. You should at least see your doctor and let them know what is going on. Some std test are as simple as taking an urine sample. Some STD's can lay dormate for years. So if your being sexual active please use protection. I hope everything is ok. Good luck.
