The dance is late February and i don't like any guys, but i'd wanna go up to a cute guy and ask him. Is that okay to do? To ask someone you don't know?
Also what do i wear?
The fliers don't have a theme on them, so yea.
Any tips on who to ask would be great.
(I can't ask any guy friends)

TeenSoup answered Saturday January 23 2010, 7:40 pm: Let's start with what to wear. I wore a great little green and white halter dress with jeans underneath. Easy to move around in and fun to wear. Also, it twirled around me, so that was fun. ^^ For shoes, I wore some comfy flats, although those are hard to find. Look around for them now, so you don't have the fashion crisis I had. I also wore some white sparkly eyeshadow (not too much) and a lil lipgloss. For a dance, make up is less important than you would think. So try to be comfy and easy - you'll be much more likable if you don't dress slutty.
Second of all YES, it is okay to ask someone you don't know well to dance with you. Even if it isn't a Sadie Hawkins dance, it's always a good icebreaker and never means anything serious if you're not in a relationship with them. Go up to them casually, and say 'Hey, you wanna dance?' and if dancing is considered a big romantic thing, add 'as friends' to that sentence. If they say no, say, 'Okay, cool.' and just walk away and dance with your friends. Keep a smile, and don't beg. They probably don't feel like dancing, have a girlfriend, don't like dancing, or even feel intimidated. It's true - if guys feel like the girl is out of their league, sometimes they'll reject. (I don't know why - stupid guys!) If they say yes, follow them and dance! It's great if you chat with them a little. If you feel too awkward doing that, just smile at them at first, and then look around at the other couples while dancing. It can be a little awkward, but it's all good fun.
Ask someone that you think is nice and that you'll have fun with - if you don't like them, it's for fun! Talk to them a little before the dance so that you don't catch them by surprise. Don't get buddy buddy, though. Make them wonder. ;)
