Monologues for Musical "Curtains"

Question Posted Thursday January 21 2010, 3:15 pm

Auditions for "Curtains" the musical my high school is doing are coming up and I'm looking for some good monologues. I've looked online for some monologues from the show and have had no luck. =/ I'd be happy with any female part in the show, but I'm especially interested in playing Carmen Bernstein. If anyone knows of any monologues from the show or from another source that would be good to show Carmen's personality as well as any other character, please tell me!

It may not be right, seeing I can't fully remember what it was, but there was a speech she made that went something like this. But it has one line from another person. I hope it helps:

Carmen: "You have no taste Elaine. I've seen your closet, your makeup and your boyfriends. And I've seen your boyfriend's closets and makeup. I'm sorry Elaine, but you chose this life. Dyed your hair. Changed your name. Why, out of all the names on Earth, would you chose... Bambi?"

Bambi: "Because in the movie, Bambi's mother is shot to death. BY HUNTERS!

Carmen: "Someone's already tried that on me, sweety. And I see no one's ruled you out of the picture yet. Come on Oscar. I've got the keys to the hotel bar. I'll fix us up some Bloddy Maries."

It's not right, word for word, but it's close enough. (And sorry for any spelling mistakes. :])
