Is it safe? (I know that it's statistically safer than scuba-diving, but still. I'd like to know the best-case and worst-case scenarios)
How much is it?
Where is it? (Where's the closest area to NYC?)
What's it like?
What would I need for it?

The place I went (in wisconsin) has been open for around 40 years, and only one person has died, and it was because he was goofing around. It feels like nothing before, its an amazing feeling falling through the sky. I would suggest doing it tandum (with someone else on your back) I didn't need anything with me, I wore sweatpants. If the weather is cooler outside you might have to wear a jump suit (they would probably provide that),I know you have to be at least 18 yrs old at most places. Eat a lot of sugary candy or food before you go, so when you get the adrenaline rush you don't vomit.
laynemayhem answered Wednesday December 23 2009, 5:56 pm: i've never been, but i know a lot of people who have. the worst case scenerio is that you have a hole in your parachute, or it doesnt deploy at all. and this happens at least 1 in every 10,000, i believe. the places that get people ready for skydiving do their hardest to make sure nothing like this would ever happen.
you wouldnt really need anything, except to make sure you're not wearing anything that would fall off while in the air; any type of jewelry, etc. they would supply you with the rest.
but my spanish teacher has gone a few times, and he told me that when he went the first time, he really didnt worry about anything and said it was fun. he said the second time is usually worst than the first. because when you're about to go again, you're thinking "well, what if something goes wrong this time?" because that is when you start thinking about everything that can go wrong.
