If they find out you have been keeping this secret and sneaking around, it will just give them another reason to say you are too immature to be dating. There is really no easy solution. All you can do is sit your mom down when you are alone and there are no distractions and tell her you need to have a serious talk. Tell her you have met someone special who is very important to you and you hope she will give him a chance. Ask her if he can come over for dinner so she can meet him and see what he is like. If she does give him a chance, take it slow and prove that you are responsible. You could go on group dates or places with adults at first until your mom is comfortable with you being alone. You will have to prove yourself.
The only bad thing about telling your mom is that she may forbid you to see him. You need to be prepared for that. Don't get angry or freak out because that shows you are immature and she will just say "that's why you shouldn't have a boyfriend."
Unfortunately, the truth is you are young and your mother may not accept him even if he is a nice guy. Remember that she is just looking out for you. Your mom loves you and you can't blame her for worrying. You have plenty of time to date and hopefully it will get easier as you get older. Good luck and let me know how it works out!
