I'm not sure if you're asking how to get the videos to work on your mac or if you want to know how to make them.

the good news is that macs are very good multimedia-wise.

if you're trying to get it to work, Its probably because you don't have a certain codec installed. install Perian. It is a bundle of all sorts of codecs for Quicktime and is great!

If the issue is you wanna know how to make them, Its hard to say without seeing the video myself. likely though, since you said 'animations,' you're gonna need some software such as adobe Flash. thats rather expensive though. Here's a FREE program called Pencil that does 2D animation. I haven't tried it out but it looks like its what you need.

to edit audio (ie. High-pitched voices), use Audacity. It is also free and very simple to use.

after you make a video, iMovie works great for combining clips and cutting/trimming them.

I would first create the audio tracks using Audacity, then create a new animation in Pencil and insert the audio for your animation. Then create the video so it follows the audio track/s. after you're all done animating, you can combine scenes using iMovie if necessary and export to a quicktime file (.mov)

working with/creating videos and animations really isn't hard, it just takes time (lots of it!) and some research if you aren't sure how to use programs.
