i was just wondering, can autistic people become psychologists? because you know, with autism you kind of aren't so good with reading people's faces and things, so is it possible to be autistic and become a psychologist?
Also keep in mind that it takes a lot of training for anyone to become a psychologist. While autistic people are likely to be disadvantaged due to their natural difficulties with communication, it is not impossible to make up for it by learning. There are many ways that autistic people learn how to compensate for being autistic. Dr. Temple Grandin is a very famous person who has autism. She is a successful animal behaviorist and is a professor at a university. She lends good insights into what it is like to be autistic. Her website is www.grandin.com, if you are interested in learning more. [ ellen537's advice column | Ask ellen537 A Question ]
