I have no idea about NYC, but there is one in Toronto at the Ontario Science Centre in their permenant collection.

I checked thier website but couldn't confirm it was still there, I'd think it would be though. I was last there a year or so ago:

Hi there,

I spent HOURS researching this and have come to the conclusion that publicly visitable Ames rooms are very hard to find. :( After hours of searching I feel comfortable in saying that you may have to look off-line for this info. What I would suggest would be calling magic shops in your area and asking if they know of anything like that. If there is a local magician's guild or society of stage magic, then contacting them would also be a good start on finding an Ames room.

Happy hunting!
