i got my tongue pierced near the middle/end of july. it's healed up now and has been perfectly fine without any troubles. however for about the past month or so, every so often my tongue will get sore around the ring and if i touch it, it feels like there's a hard ball inside my tongue either right in front of or to the side of the barbell. i usually just mouthwash it really well for a few days and it goes away, but does anyone know what this is and how i can prevent it?
she went to a legit clean high end piercing place to get it checked out and ask whats going on and they said shes fine, but that may just be her. you should probably go back to the place that you got it pierced at (if it wasnt a legit place go to a better one) and ask whats going on and if your situation is bad or not.

That sounds like something you should really go have your doctor check out. There may be a problem with it, and removing the barbell is a possibility.
However, if it needs to be removed, it's better to get your tongue healed up and try re-piercing rather than to let this problem go.
