my car keeps dying when i am stopped at a light or about to stop i think it might be the filter but i really have no idea the car is a Dodge Interpid 2002 3.7L

Maybe give some free advice about: Cars? sobeg answered Thursday October 15 2009, 12:09 pm: there can be many reasons for this. most likely it will not be a fuel problem or an air or fuel filter problem. filters when dirty tend to lag performance and would get worse as you demand more from the engine at higher rpm. it could be a vacuum leak but itll have to be a large one. it can be a TPS ( throttle position sensor) or a MAP
(manifold absolete Pressure) sensor or even a MAF (mass Air Flow ) sensor/meter. even the PRNDL switch could cause a problem and of course theres electrical. if you live near a comunity college take it there youd be surprise as to how low theyd charge to diagnose the problem. But if your asking for an exact reason and fix to the problem then it can be anything, even an ISC (idle Speed Control) motor. its a good idea to have it checked out first before going around and changing parts and end up getting every thing new except solvoning the problem.
