trichomoniasis?
First, I am a 31 year old female and have been married for 10 years.
I had what I thought was a yeast infection start nearly two weeks ago. On Friday, after having treated with OTC products to no avail, I saw a gyn. He gave me an Rx pill and cream and did a wet prep to confirm. I can access test results online and have just found that the test showed no yeast, but trichomonas vaginalis, an STD. Could the test be wrong? Or is there another way to contract trichomoniasis?
I have searched the internet and really haven't found a definite answer. I will be calling my doctor tomorrow to confirm. I just want to know what possibilities there are so I can address this properly with him. Any personal experiences would be very helpful.

It's possible the test could be wrong but if you went to a gynocologist then the chances of the test being wrong is probably very small. trichomonas vaginalis can be passed through having sex with your partner, wiping yourself with a cloth and I'm sure there are many other ways to contract it as well.
