2 forms of Pic ID

Question Posted Tuesday August 25 2009, 4:51 pm

Sometimes I am in a situations where I need 2 forms of picture ID. So I was going to get a state ID to go with my drivers license. I was just informed by the DMV though, that if you have a Drivers license you can't have a state ID...it's on or the other. So I am wondering, if you don't want to take your passport around, and you don't get a photo ID with your job...then what else are you supposed to use as a secondary form of picture ID, is there some legal ID that I just don't know about? Thank you for your answers.

You can always use your school ID, or some businesses give you an ID card there.

A lot of times [in my situations] they can tell you to bring 2 forms of picture ID, or you can give them your social security card instead. Ask the person responsible in that situation for alternatives -- they should let you.
