How do you know?

Question Posted Friday August 21 2009, 11:51 am

When you're growing up you always say you want to be something like a doctor or lawyer. When you get older you realise that your choice has changed and sometimes you realise you have no idea what you want to be anymore.

i'm here. i'm not sure what i want to do. i did a pre-law course this past academic year and i failed. I thought i wanted to be a lawyer, actually I still want to do law. But since i failed, I feel like maybe it's not the choice for me.

I only have a few days to decide and I've been thinking of doing business instead. It's something I think I can pass, since I did 3 years of business prior and passed.

It's difficult for me to decide. I want to be a lawyer, but the failing grade made me think more about if i really want and think i can pass it. while i know i can pass business studies.

which should i choose? do i choose something i can pass? or do i choose what i WANT and risk the chance of failing?

I would keep trying to do law. I understand the risk of failing, but there's always study groups to join, or you can go see your teacher if you're stuck. They're more than willing to help you.

I'm sure that you will pass the class. You just need to have more faith in yourself. If you want to do Law, then you should stick with it. You can't jump to something new everytime you fail. You'll never have that proud feeling of accomplishment. It'll feel more like self-defeat.

Keep trying law. You'll pass.

I think you should choose what you want to do over what you can do right now. If you choose the one you want you will be making a lot of money AND doing something you enjoy. It's better to have a job that you like then something just to make some cash (although sometimes you have to). Plus I bet you can be trained and taught to be a very good lawyer and will eventually pass that test. Don't give up hope and your dream job. I hope this helps.
