Things to do in long distance relationships.

Question Posted Tuesday August 18 2009, 3:57 am

By the end of this week I will be in a long distance relationship, thanks to college.
I need some ideas for fun things to do over the phone, or to send each other. I'm hoping if we keep ourselves occupied with games or fun stuff then we won't keep thinking about how we can't be with each other.

Any ideas?

Send each other letters back and forth. It's kind of a lost art, I would say. Letters, since they are somewhat obsolete, are so much more meaningful.

A text message today is the equivalent of a letter pre-cell phone. But, nowadays, they are kind of special.

I like the webcam idea. Maybe try to find new ways to talk online. Like Twitter, or Facebook, Myspace, [Advicenators?], AIM, MSN, Yahoo, etc.

Maybe come up with a puzzle for him to solve through email, or through a letter. Send bits and pieces in a few different letters, like have him solve clues, and use the first letter of each answer to make a phrase, that ends up being like "I love you very much!" or something.

Definitely getting a webcam will be nice. And of course it they are close enough, visit if you can. You can watch the same movie at the same time and stay on the phone with them the whole time, that's always cute. Also, dont underestimate the oldfashioned snail mail. Writing a sweet letter by hand can mean a lot. You can add your own touch with maybe a spray of your perfume on the letter? Maybe something small that will remind him of you? Like a movie ticket stub you kept..or a picture of yall or something.

1. You could have phone sex?
2. Get a webcam maybe?
3. Surprise your partner by visiting sometimes
4. Build hobby that you can both share- you will have something to talk about
5.Buy a box of chocolates. Under each chocolate place a short note- maybe make an advent callender type of thing, every day, they take out a chocolate to reveal a special note
6. Go on virtual dates together on the Internet. A few ideas include attending concerts, going to the zoo or museums.( i dont know how this is possible, but i got it from a website)
7. If you have a nintendo wii or something, they have that thing which you can talk over it, and like..play games together

hope i helped
