scared? lately i have been very paraniod about everything, i use to just a little scared of things but now i cant stop thinking of killers and murderers coming to my house i cant sleep anymore because i keep having bad dreams when i dont think about scary things before i go to sleep. i had the same dream three times in a row and the killer in friday the 13th was in it and i hadnt even watched that movie in forever isnt that suppose to symbolize somthing . i sleep with my window closed my light on and the tv i dont even feel safe when a friend is sleeping over. what is wrong with me i was never like this before and i dont want to take pills for it.how do i get the bad dreams to stop and how do i stop being so scared and paraniod?

Dreams are subjective which means they are based on your thoughts. If you go to bed every night and you lay there thinking of all these bad things happening, then you are setting yourself up for nightmares.
Usually, nightmares are based on SUBconsious thought, (thoughts that are actually in the back of your mind during the day, not necssarily what you think most about all day.) Your biggest fears manifest themselves through dreams. So what this means for you is that you are bringing this upon yourself mentally! You have a bad dream 1 time and it upset you so much, that you worried about it severely and now the dreams wont stop. Its like a vicious cycle.
heres what you do.
(i know it sounds silly)
look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself
"no one is going to hurt me in my sleep. The windows and doors are locked, mom and dad are here, and monsters are not real. I need to get some restful sleep, no nightmares tonight!"

I have the same problem. I dont want to rain on you parade but truthfully they, it doesnt stop and medican doesnt work, well atleast not for me. The only thing I can say is its all in your head nome of its reaj. make yourself belive it and nothing helps its mental, its often helps to keep your thoughts on paper instead in ur head making you think about it. your the cause your the only one who can stop it. ]
