I am learning to play guitar on my own. I have written a few songs and I am pretty good at that, but I would like to learn how to play really well. I heard guitar tabs work. I have seen them but I do not understand how to use them. Can you send me to a site that has them where they are for beginers or there is some explination for how to use them. Thanks.

The Highest string is the first string on the guitar (The thinnest E string). The bottom line on the tab is the 6th string (The thickest E string). The numbers on the lines say which fret to place your finger and strum (just that string). If it has more then one number going straight down then its a chord. Tabs are good but you also need to learn the chord names. I suggest you learn how to play the G,A,Am,E,C,D,Bm,B,F chords. They're in almost every song you will play. Here's a good site

One of my favorite songs is "The best" by cartel. If you have a capo its a good song to start with if your gunna try tabs first. Here's the link [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
