Accelerated English 1 vs Honors English?
Sorry if this seems like a stupid question, but I was wondering what the difference was between accelerated english and honors english in high school? I'm starting high school, and I'm going to be a freshman... I have accelerated english 1. Is this a good thing or a bad thing? :|

It's a good thing to be in English IA (as we call it) but it would benefit you more in the long term if you're in English Honors, the level above A-level. In my school, if a student gets As in Honors-level classes, their GPA may rise above a 4.0, like myself. I was in A-level freshman year and got A+'s with my eyes closed (I was already in three other Honors classes), and ended up moving up to Honors sophomore year (I did very well) and now I'm in AP for this upcoming year. Obviously, there's a catch: Honors is very different from A-level. The teachers expect a lot from you and give you a lot of work, and yes, students did end up dropping the English class. I could handle it (I'm a math person, by the way) and went through the year with flying colors. If you can handle the stress of it and can manage your time effectively, you'll be fine. The truth is, I would have never learned how to be as organized, efficient, goal-oriented, and motivated as I am today without being in Honors and AP classes.
I assume you aren't in any other Honors classes since you didn't know the difference, but moving up in one class will not break you by any stretch of imagination. I admit, I was in all honors and AP classes first semester but ended up dropping my biggest load and my hardest class, which was the best decision I've ever made. So if you feel like English H is too much for you, just drop the class! I highly recommend you give it a try, though. It may seem difficult at first, but you LEARN to go with the flow.

Honors English means you go above and beyond what the normal English class does for your grade.
I've never really heard of Accelerated English, but I'm assuming that means you go faster than the normal curriculum.
Ask your counselor what the difference is at your school, because it could be different from yours to someone elses.
But I don't think it's a bad thing.
