Face Bumps?

Question Posted Tuesday August 4 2009, 9:01 pm

All my life, I've had pretty clear skin. I never had severe acne or anything like that. However, I have an oily and pimple-prone T-zone: my forehead (between my eyebrows especially) and around my nose. I use an acne-control medicine (even though I just have the occasional zit) to keep that part of my face oil-free. Currently, it looks great and there are no pimples anywhere on my face. I'm really sorry this is gross, but although my face is oil-free and pimple-free now, there are these little bumps (NOT pimples or pimples to be) on my forehead. They don't hurt and they're just skin color (not red / pink / white). It's not necessary for me to go to the doctor, so please do not suggest that, but does anyone know why this is happening and / or how to make the skin on my forehead flat and smooth without being oily?

It's probably acne caused by your hair touching your forehead. Perfectly normal.

Here's a link to a question I've answered before about acne that might really help you out; I'd rather not copy the entire answer, but just know that it's from Advicenators:

If you have what I am thinking of, then it isn't anything serious, and I think that using facial wash should make them go away eventually.
I have alot of those bumps. I call them sweat spots, because I don't know the proper name for them. People usually get them from sweating, or from having oily skin (I also have oily skin like you).
I wouldn't worry about these too much. I usually cover mine with a bit of concealer or foundation, but this can make them worse, so I don't do it often (and if they are big, they look bad with make-up on them, so be careful ;))

The only thing I can recomend is washing your face everyday, washing make-up off as soon as you get home, and maybe - when you feel your face getting oily or sweaty - dab or wipe it with a tissue or your sleave or something.

Hopefully you get this sorted out.

PS. your spots might not be what I have said, but I am just saying what I think it is.
They could also be scars from picking or popping your pimples, and these scars don't go away, so make sure you never pop or pick at your pimples ;]

Good luck,
-Natalie
