Movie For My Mom

Question Posted Monday August 3 2009, 4:34 pm

I'm making this movie for my mom for christmas. It's starring my dog, Moses. I don't have much filmed, I still need more. I need some ideas for my Moses Movie. I've already taken a video of my dog rolling over a lot of times plus my mom's favorite songs put together. Any ideas? Dog stunts? Free movie editting software with cool effects? Ideas to making it entertaining? I'm planning on adding my dog getting the newpaper and maybe my mom walking the dog. A lot of the best memories I have with my dog aren't recorded. So it's hard to get something good compared. Thanks (:

The best memories aren't recorded because they happen spontaneously. Set up a video camera on the dog and leave it going. See if it catches something interesting and go from there.

Your other ideas are all fine. Only you know what your mom will respond to or laugh at. She'll appreciate the gesture. You need to go with your gut and ideas that come to you.

Try finding a friend with a MAC who can put in music, edit it, add effects etc. I believe the program is called Imovie. It's designed for that and built into all MACs.

Talk to the teacher who does Year Book and the design of it with students. They would have great ideas about what you do with video and may have all the tools you need to work on it or advice. That's definitely a good source. Also try your audio/visual department or the person in charge of taping events etc. for school.
