So my 14th birthday is coming up in august and I have been seriously thinking about getting a tattoo.
I mean seriously thinking hard.
I want to get a small quarter size peace sign on the center of my left foot.
It would symbolize this,
I intend to walk a life of spreading peace.
Also, it would remind me of my Jesus.
I know it's probably illegal at my age, but I've though about this for a very long time.
And putting it in a place where it won't stretch badly over time.
My mom actually likes the meaning of it too.
Is it illegal?
Is it a bad place to put it when I get old enough to get one if it's illegal?
All advice I will take :)
Thank you

I haven't heard of anyone getting a tattoo on the bottom of their foot before, but it shouldn't stretch. Something tells me it would probably fade a lot over time though. If your mom thinks it is a good idea, then that's great. I personally thought as long as you had parental consent you could get the tattoo, but obviously not.
But I just want to say one thing. If this tattoo is something you really want, why not wait until you are 18? A tattoo will be there for the rest of your life, so waiting a few years won't matter much. If you are still one hundred percent sure you want a tattoo, then go for it. As far as the tattoo goes, putting it on your foot is okay. I just suggest that you realize the foot is usually a painful place because the foot is usually bony. I've got 3 tattoos and was going to put one on my foot but opted out because I have bony feet. I'd put it either on your shoulder, your hip or your wrist or something. Don't put it anywhere super visible. [ christina's advice column | Ask christina A Question ]

It's somewhat confusing because some people say if you're accompanied by an adult, you're allowed to get one. I'm not sure where you live so just look up tattoo laws in your state! The meaning of it is very nice. It is a good idea getting it on the center of your left foot, very unique. It's not a bad place, if that's where you want to get it, get it there. But, remember..tattoo's are their forever (well, besides laser removal..which is very painful and expensive). Make sure it is something you wouldn't mind having on your body. If you're 100% sure, find a very clean, and good place that has employee's that actually know what they're doing...and get what you want. :) [ jm93's advice column | Ask jm93 A Question ]
