Amazon Lady?

Question Posted Thursday July 30 2009, 2:30 am

I was referred to as an "amazon lady" by someone recently and I don't exactly know what that means. I am a tall woman- 5'9"ish and I think it is a reference to my size but I don't know. I am just curious as to whether or not it is an insult? Thanks!

It was probably meant as an insult, but honestly, you have no control over your height, so I wouldn't worry about it.

An "Amazon" is a girl who is tall and of large build.

But, honestly, back in the day, those type of women were looked upon as the most desirable. =]

An amazon women is a tall women of larger build, not to be mistaken by fat. It is a compliment to some women who are proud of there height and dominance. However some women who are self conscious about there height find it rude. I for one think its a compliment. So kudos to you!
