Service for my community?

for school i have to complete 5 hours of service to a non-profit charitable orgaization. what are some good places to voulenteer besides a soup kitchen, nursing home, or animal shelter?

pick a cause u really like as in cancer society or twloha n go online n it gives you a list or u can sell stuff n donate the money to there. or work in a hospital giftshop thats what i do just go in n ask. or the relay for life it counts as 12 hours n its so much fun, look it up by the american cancer society. hope i helped

The library is a good place to start.


Also, try going to the local middle schools and asking if they need after school tutors or anything. You can also ask if they need somebody to work scoreboards and/or sell candy at sporting events.

Habitat for Humanity is a really amazing program to get into. Look it up online, Im sure there is a program guide somewhere near where you live. I have worked with them, and its great, you basically help build homes for under privilaged families that cant afford them.
also go to your local animal shelter, its really nice to help out there too.
