So from the day before the day you had sex to seven days after you had sex, did you take the pills daily?

So basically:

2 days before---the sex day---until 7 days after
took the pills on every single day (10 days total)

If you have taken birth control pills like that or more, even if he ejaculated inside, you only have 3% to 5% chance of pregnancy (for typical use of the pills) OR 2% to 0.1% (for perfect use of the pills). I don't think you are a perfect user so expect about 3% to 5%.

As for the pregnancy test, the basic of the test is to detect hGG (human Chorionic Gonadotropin). It is a hormone that only appear in your urine or blood when you are pregnant (that's why some people call it "pregnancy hormone"). Here's a time frame:

Sex--->7 days later (or less)--->Sperm merges with egg (fertilized egg)--->Egg implants on your uterus--->hGG hormone is presence.

So it typically takes about 14 days (could be as little as 4 days and as long as 18 days) after the day you have sex to get a correct pregnancy test using HPT (Home Pregnancy Test).

Hope this helps,
=)
