When will the Michael Jackson autopsy be done?

Question Posted Thursday June 25 2009, 10:01 pm

Michael Jackson died today at age 50. It's really sad, actually, because he was pretty young to be dying of heart problems. I'm not saying I liked or disliked Michael Jackson so please no bashing of the man here.

Anyway, reports have indicated that Michael Jackson died of cardiac arrest but nobody can be 100% certain until there is an autopsy done, right?

When will Michael Jackson's autopsy be performed so we know if Michael Jackson really died of cardiac arrest, a drug overdose, was murdered, or actually committed suicide?

The autopsy is being started today (Friday).
Since he was young and didn't have a history of heart problems, an autopsy is necessary.

According to the family lawyer/friend he has been warning the family of Michaels being "over medicated" since the death of Anna Nicole Smith. He says he told them if that ever happened here, he would not keep quiet. SO, I suspect it will be found
that he was again addicted to prescription medication. This is just a possibility, we will know soon.

They are usually performed the morning after a person has died. Almost all are because the coroner is occupied in court proceedings in the afternoon and evenings.

They do this also because of decomposition and other graphic things not suitable to mention here. The procedure is only done if the police are called in and someone dies suddenly or before they get there, an automobile accident, suicide or something unexplained.

If a doctor is willing to sign a death certificate and call it cardiac arrest or a massive heart attack or knew Michael Jackson had these problems one isn't needed unless the family requested it. He just signs off, releases the body to a funeral home and that's it.

If one is done it will be done tomorrow most likely but you won't hear much else for weeks because of how long lab results are unless the cause is blatantly obvious from the exam itself.

The police, paramedics and it being sudden and unexplained condition leads to the autopsy being required by law because no doctor will sign the death certificate otherwise.

There is nothing now that would lead them to believe it was a suicide nor overdose (yet) and it's not a murder either. It's likely medical as he was not in the greatest health either according to his lawyer on CNN but he didn't hesitate to warn the singer's family about the prescription drugs he was on.

The autopsy will probably start within the next few days, probably tomorrow.

But you probably won't hear anything about it for a week or so, because the family has asked for some privacy.
