windows movie maker

so i have a laptop and a computer, and i have windows movie maker on both. on my laptop whenever i try to upload a movie, it tells me idont have the right codec? or something like that. and doesnt let me upload it. and on my computer it just keeps closing and it doesnt play back my movies and stuff. so does anyone know where i can either download windows movie maker, or get another program thats easy and free like windows movie maker?

If you are trying to upload an actual movie(i.e. "Rocky Balboa") you won't be able to. This is because the movie is copyrighted, so it has protective software.
If you're trying to upload a video that you recorded and it still doesn't work try going to [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) and you might be able to find some help in the FAQs. If not, get in contact with a microsoft employee from the page I suggested above.
