What Microsoft .Net Framework versions/packs do I need?

Question Posted Saturday June 20 2009, 7:40 am

I'm trying to run an application that requires .Net Framework 3.5. So far I only have .Net Framework 1.1 and .Net Framework 1.1 Hotfix installed. I'm trying to install the later versions but it won't let me. Like when I install 2.0 download is a success but says installation failed or something and same thing goes for 3.5. I get something like system error 0x8... and some other digits. I tried going onto Windows Update but all it gives me is 3.5 too and installation was a failure also. Is there like more to 1.1 that I need before installing 2.0? Can anyone give me like a list of .Net Framework versions/packs in order for me to get up to .Net Framework 3.5?

Uninstall all .Net framework entries in add/remove programs. Restart. Install it all again through Windows Update. Everything you need should be installed through Windows Update.

If you still get the error, ask another question with the _complete_ error code.
