chlorine and my hair

Question Posted Tuesday June 9 2009, 10:50 pm

so its the summer, and i love to go swimming but every time i do the chlorine makes my hair dry... like no matter how quick i wash my hair it just looks dry the next couple of days. and then there are sometimes that i cant wash the chlorine out of my hair for a couple of hours

so does anyone know of a product (id really like a leave in conditioner) that can keep my hair from drying out if i cant wash it after swimming for a while AND like a shampoo for when i wash it out.

thanks in advance!!

The best type of shampoo and conditioner you can buy is one that puts oils into your hair. Examples would be tresamee, vo5, suave. it should be for dry scalp or hair, so when you go swimming and the chlorine dries your hair up, you have the oils to put back in it. These can be found in any family dollar store or even walmart.

Why not get a swim cap? If not, chlorine strips your hair of it's minerals, so there's nothing you can do immediately since the mineral are already gone. I suggest using shampoo that they advertise on tv that "makes your hair silky/softer" or "rejuvenates"; i hear garnier frutisse is a good brand.
