How do you become a fun person to hang out with? None of my friends are very fun to hang out with, so I'm afraid when I hang out with other people that I'm not fun. What makes a person fun to be around?
One thing I would say, if your friends aren't fun to hang around with, why don't you make some new friends?
A sense of humour and genuine personality (that means your's, not anyone else's) always win the day. Don't attempt to be something you're not by constantly making jokes or being happy, as cliche as it is, just be yourself. The majority of people don't want someone who is always on a high, it's important to know when to be sincere and there for someone. [ rainbowcherrie's advice column | Ask rainbowcherrie A Question ]

Sometimes you just need to try something different like hanging out somewhere else and other people. Sometimes it's just the group, try mixing friends and hanging out. Things sort of click that way. I had two friends from different schools and they hit it off well when we hung out. I know some certain friends of mine are better suited for a movie night opposed.. to the mall or even dinner. You must be fun if people want to hang out with you. If people don't blow you off for something else, you are fun.
It's not something you should worry too much about. If you weren't interesting enough to hang out with, people would come up with excuses not to.

None of your friends have told you that you're not fun. If you weren't fun in their eyes, they probably wouldn't want to hang out. I'd say that since they hang out with you, they think you're fun to be with.
I don't think it's being 'fun' as much as it's not being annoying. Even though everyone has their different peeves. Just try to be yourself but be well-balanced. Don't freak out and scream all the time, but don't sit in the corner not saying a word. Be funny when it's appropriate and be serious when it's appropriate. Try to think of fun things to suggest to your friends (seeing a movie, going rollerskating, going swimming)
Other than that, you just have to be yourself and hang out with the people that want to hang out with you. Since you do have friends that hang out with you, they obviously have a reason for liking you. Why do you hang out with your friends that aren't fun to hang out with?

Well, most people enjoy hanging out with someone who possibly has the same interests as them and seem to always be optimistic. They like someone who's there, someone they can trust. Loyalty is also a key portion. And merely be yourself as well. No one likes fakers. [ XReiSenseiX's advice column | Ask XReiSenseiX A Question ]

They know how to give you time to speak, but also when to step in and do the talking.
Overall, they have a laid-back personality, but aren't too loose that you can't maintain a conversation with them.
