I want to take a trip to another country like Australia, France, or maybe even Spain. I'm not sure yet, but I know I've been hearing about needing a passport to exit and enter the United States.
How do I apply for a passport and how long does it take to get a passport?
ThirdQED answered Tuesday June 2 2009, 2:20 pm: You can apply for a passport at any one of the government's Passport Application Acceptance Facilities across the country.
A trip to countries like Australia, France, or Spain requires a passport book (not passport card). The passport book, as of now, cost $100 USD for adults ($75 USD for renewal) and $85 USD for minors under age 16. The passport book is valid for ten years (according to [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) )
