How do I get a passport?
I want to take a trip to another country like Australia, France, or maybe even Spain. I'm not sure yet, but I know I've been hearing about needing a passport to exit and enter the United States.

your local post office will do it for you, and I would do it now if you plan on leaving soon cause it can take a few weeks to get it

You can apply for a passport at any one of the government's Passport Application Acceptance Facilities across the country.

A trip to countries like Australia, France, or Spain requires a passport book (not passport card). The passport book, as of now, cost $100 USD for adults ($75 USD for renewal) and $85 USD for minors under age 16. It, as of now, takes about four to six weeks, but if you pay an extra fee, the time could be reduce to two to three weeks (according to [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) )
