CECT P168 help? A manual in English? (Found!) Support forums? (Found!)
Question Posted Sunday May 31 2009, 2:06 pm
Hi
I purchased the CECT P168 recently & I'm not sure how to work things on it. there's no manual, and i haven't found anything useful online.
My questions are (any answers, even for 1 of the questions is GREATLY appreciated!!)
1. What type of music files can it play?
2. What type of video files can it play?
3. When sending a MMS message, how can you send an mp3 file? (it tells me it's too large, and i dont know how to make it bigger...so how would i go about doing that?)
4. Is there a way to change your text ringtone to something other than the ones they preset for you?
5. Can i download programs onto it? (And if you know what kind of programs, that would be great!)
6. What type of game files can it play?
7. How do I get an E-book on there? (Does it only play certain E-book files? because i tried to put one on and it said it couldn't read it)
8. Is there a way to get t9 english or iTAP english for the texting?
Good news: SO many people are having the same issues with the mostly Chinese manual for the CECT P168 that some folks got together and wrote a new, and apparently more helpful, CECT P168 manual... in English!
Bad news: They would like to be paid for their work:
Looking for the kind of help you need, if you need help beyond the manual is going to require someone who has the phone and an extensive working knowledge of it.
I am sorry I don't have one, and apparently nobody else here does either, so I will have to send you to a user support forum for the CECT P168 (iClone):
... and they want you to go to a new site which basically has nothing. Don't bother with the new site, but please consider looking through the old forum as many people had their questions answered there.
This:
"CECT P168 - Everything you need to know about the p168. Latest updates of firmware developments, mods, wallpapers, bootscreens and tricks & tips:"
... about the only question you have that I can answer directly comes from reading all this new information on the progress, or lack thereof, on updating the firmware to include Java, which it doesn't that I could find. You know what that means... No adding programs, games etc.
Pretty much have to become an uber phone geek to get this thing to do what you want.
