This guy confuses me...

Hey, so there's this guy I like and we've been out a couple times and we always end up together at parties and stuff, but he goes through phases it seems of always wanting to talk to me- where he texts me like all the time then sometimes he acts like he can't be bothered with me.
I'm just kinda confused with him, he always says he doesn't want a relationship but then he asks me out on dates every so often. Then I don't know if I should go out with him because I really like him and I don't know if he will ever want to be in a relationship and I could end up getting hurt.
Any advice or ideas will help thanks :)

im a guy myself and i admit, im like that. maybe he just wants to get to know you more before you guys actually go out.

it kinda sounds like he's interested in dating you, but not getting into a serious relationship. if you're okay with this then it wouldn't hurt to go out on a few dates and you never know, maybe after that maybe he'll change his mind. if anything happens, let him ask you out though, just so you don't come on too strong or scare him off.
