pills

Question Posted Friday May 29 2009, 5:35 am

The pill and the morning after pill

are they the same?
Because I swear both of them stop your period , so they must be the same?

And as for the pill, when does it wear off?

They aren't the same.

The pill is a pill you take everyday to stop you from getting pregnant, and it doesnt stop your period you still get spotting.

The morining after pill is for when you have unprotected sex. You take it and it makes you start your period so you relase an egg so you dont get pregnant.

The pill doesnt wear off. as long as you take it at the same time everyday then you should be fine. If you miss a couple of days you shouldnt have unprotected sex for a week so you can make sure it works.

Hope i helped =]

No they are far from the same.

The BC pill is used continuously over a period of time, to prevent you from getting pregnant. And, it doesn't stop your period. Sometimes there are those advertisements on the TV that explain that you only get 3 periods a year or something like that - but even then it doesn't completely stop. And it really depends in how long you've been taking the pill for how long it'll take to wear off. If you've been using it for a few years then it would take longer then it would if you were taking it for a few months. So, it can vary from person to person.

The morning after pill is used once, and should be used within 72 hours of unprotected sex. IT does not stop your period. If anything it would make your period come faster.

The reason people would use the morning after pill is in case you might assume you're pregnant or something, usually the pill would be used to prevent you from thinking so.
