However, some are not as foolproof as others. Birth control pills are 99% effective IF taken properly, and if nothing interfered with your absorption of it, such as vomiting. Injections, like Depo Provera, or implants are more effective in real life, as there is no way to mess it up. Keep in mind though that the time frame for these is longer and the potential side effects more serious than with the pill. So it all depends on when you plan on trying to get pregnant, what kind of side effects you can handle, and how good you are at remembering to take a pill every day at the same time.

Everyone is different. All birth control pills will prevent pregnancy.
These days it comes down to what you want. Do you want something you only have to worry about every 3 month or so? Do you want less of a period or perhaps none at all?
