"What If" Scenarios I'm trying out for a drum major position in my high school band. Part of the interview process involves the judges presenting me with a "what if?" scenario and I have to explain how I would respond to the situation. An example would be, the band director gets lost in his vehicle on the way to an away game but the band arrives on time- what would you do? Or, a band member collapses and stops breathing during rehearsal- what would you do? It's a pretty important part of the intervew because we have had situations in the past where students could have been hurt. To prepare for this, I've been looking up stuff on the internet, but I really can't find much. Does anyone have any information about things of this nature? Personal experience?

There's really not much research you can really do on this, because you could be asked pretty much anything. Plus, if you've planned your answers in your head & he asks a complete other questions, it'll throw you off guard. You pretty much just have to use common sense & instinct on this. Just think of some emergencies that could possibly happen, including the ones you've listed. Think of what you should do if someone gets hurt & things like that. ]
