College Visits

Question Posted Friday April 10 2009, 2:19 pm

17/f, junior in high school

For spring break, I'm planning on visiting some colleges (next week). I have absolutely no idea where to go, but this is what I have so far:
Ohio Dominican University
Ohio Wesleyan University
Mercyhurst College
Miami University

I've basically been convinced not to go to Miami, since its so far (I live in Northest Ohio) and everyone says it's really preppy and stuck up.
What do you think of these schools? I found a pretty good site where there was a forum where people posted their thoughts on schools. Since Ohio Dominican and Wesleyan are small, there wasn't anything on them.
I have absolutely no idea what I want to do career wise. Since I'm so unsure, is it a bad idea to go to a liberal arts college?
I plan on going to college in Ohio, but Pennsylvannia is okay. My mom suggested a private school, since they give more aid. I want a medium-sized college, maybe like 5,000. I have a feeling the others will be a little to small for me, but I'm not exactly sure. Any ideas as to where else I should go? Any other good colleges? My gpa is about a 3.7, and I haven't taken the SAT or ACT yet, but those won't be too good.
Also, what should I where when I go to visit colleges? Any other tips?
Sorry there's so many questions in this. I'm just so lost! Thankssss!

hey!
no need to stress about it, you still have some time to figure it out. im a senior this year, and im going to coastal carolina university in the fall. its in south carolina and about 15 minutes from myrtle beach. its a great school if you like being around a fun place. the beach, the mall haha, and of course there are always going to be people around. theres a place called broadway at the beach, its sort of like downtown disney if youve ever been there. lots of places to shop, margaritaville, senor frogs, fun stuff like that. the hard rock amusement park is also about 10 minutes away. always something to do! check it out, the website is www.coastal.edu. its in such a good location and its an absolutely gorgeous school! good luck, and really dont stress about it!
