so on thursday i get all 4 of my wisdom teeth cut out and im really nervous thats its going to be very painful after i get them out because during it wont hurt because im getting IV sedated. Any tips to make it not hurt so bad besides taking the pain medicine?
I had all four of my wisdom teeth taken out at the same time before too. I won't lie, It does hurt like like you wouldn't believe.
1. Keep gauges in your mouth don't bite down too hard or it will bleed more and change the gauges every 2 hours.
2. Don't eat or drink anything hot for 4 days
3. No chewing anything hard, Don't drink through a straw
4. Eat soft things, Jello, Pudding, and semi warm soup
5. If you decide to brush your teeth (I highly recommend waiting a day or so) brush lightly in the front of your mouth first and as the days go on and you heal more than gradually work your way towards the back. [ BahaiMa22's advice column | Ask BahaiMa22 A Question ]

but my cousin just got hers out and she said it really only hurts early in the mornings and at night when she's trying to sleep.
so the main thing is just be prepared that it's going to hurt. take your medicine most importantly. keep yourself elevated, idk if you have a recliner at your house but you should try to sleep in that for a few nights or stack up pillows on your bed so you're not laying flat, that'll help a lot. also a warm rag or heating pad on & off your cheeks. DO NOT drink through a straw! you'll give yourself dry socket which will hurt way more than the surgery. and other than that just try to rest a lot. rent yourself a lot of movies or something to do for a couple days and just be comfortable. good luck!
