just got my tongue pierced..

Question Posted Thursday April 2 2009, 4:58 pm

i got my tongue pierced a few days ago. it costed me 40 bucks, and so far i regret it, terribly. i cant kiss my boyfriend unless he gargles mouthwash, i cant smoke, and i cant eat anything filling until the swelling goes down. on top of that, my tonuge is KILLING me. i know i shouldnt have gotten the piercing if i was going to regret it so bad, but i still did. ive been living off jello and icecream and nutrishakes for the past two days and im so hungry. the healing process takes 6 weeks at most, i think? and the swelling lasts 3-7 days, or something.

my question is, after the healing and the swelling and stuff, i SHOULD be able to smoke regularly and eat what i want and give blowjobs and kiss my boyfriend, right? like, as far as i know, after six weeks, i should be able to do everything i was able to do before, just with a big stud in my mouth, and i have to rinse real good after i eat.

if theres something im missing, please let me know. :) i want to know everything i shouldnt do after the healing process is over. i know what to do DURING. just not what i can do after. so if someone can let me know, (someone who has had their tongue pierced, or works at a tattoo parlor, or just someone who knows their research,) that'd be great. thanks.

I was in a similar situation to yours when I got my lip pierced last June. Good thing my boyfriend was in California and I was in New York though.

A lip piercing is quite the same. No crunchy foods, no sodas or alcohol (obviously on the alcohol, I was 17), & you have to brush, rinse with mouthwash & spray the salt water solution on the wound.

After the swelling goes down, I BELIEVE & this is not for sure, but I believe to the best of my knowledge, that you may eat regular foods again like pizza, or chips & stuff like that. You just can't eat it now because your tongue is swollen & sensitive & it'll really hurt if you eat those. So yes, once the swelling goes down you should be able to eat normal food again. I was starving as well when I got my lip done, but in the end it was all worth it.

And after the complete healing of your piercing, you can more than likely do the things you wish to do. I'm sure you can kiss because it isn't a facial wound like mine was, but you can't use your tongue obviously so you're going to have to peck your boyfriend instead.

If there's anything else you need to know, obviously you can contact the guy who pierced you & ask because they love questions & love to help. Or, you can look online at Google.

Also, even though I do not have my tongue pierced, my opinion & help should be pretty valuable because a lot of the girls in my family have their tongue done, and my older brother got his tongue done as well a few years ago. :) I hope this helps.
